You can watch videos on YouTube announced On Wednesday, the company announced that it has launched its audio multi-language feature after two years of testing. YouTubers now have the option to add subtitles in multiple languages. This will help them reach an even wider audience. It is anticipated that the rollout would take place in coming weeks.

The first feature launched As a pilot program in 2023 available only to select creators such as MrBeast and Mark Rober. Chef Jamie Oliver was also included. YouTube launched an option for creators to use third-party services. AI-powered auto-dubbing tool Google Gemini is used to reproduce the creator’s emotions and tone.

YouTube says that since its launch this feature has been successful for many testers. Over 25% of the time spent watching videos that have audio in multiple languages was spent by those uploading multi-language tracks. Jamie Oliver tripled his views by using audio tracks in multiple languages.

The company is also testing the multi-language thumbnails on a small group of selected creators. Creators can now customize their thumbnails so that they display the text in another language, allowing them to cater to an international audience. Localized thumbnails include the text in the viewer’s preferred language.
