YouTube is getting a feature similar to AI Overviews. YouTube, the video-streaming platform, may soon show an Overview. “AI-powered search results carousel” Some YouTube Premium users in the US will search related searches to “shopping, travel, or things to do in a specific place,” according to a blog post.
The picture shows in a videoIt will then show you a video with a larger clip at the top. Below that are thumbnails for other videos relevant to your search. And finally, an AI generated bit of text in response to your question. Tap on the large clip in the upper part of the carousel to see the full video.
Tests will continue until the 30th of July. The feature currently is only available on iOS, Android and English videos. the YouTube experiments page. Only a “randomly selected number of Premium members” YouTube claims that everyone will get access to the service. in a support document.
YouTube has also expanded its Conversational AI Tool that allows you to ask questions regarding a video. “some non-Premium users in the US.” This feature was first introduced in 2023.
