YouTube announced new AI-generated tools on its Made on YouTube Live event on February 2. YouTube has added a version of Google’s Veo 3 text-to-video AI model to Shorts. It also includes a new remixing feature. “Edit with AI” Feature, and much more

YouTube says that the Veo 3 Fast custom version generates video outputs at 480p with a lower latency. This makes it easier to make videos. Users can now do it with sound.

Updates are now available for the United States of America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. YouTube has plans to extend its functionalities to additional regions.

YouTube will also bring new Veo features to Shorts. This includes the ability to add motion to an image from a video. As an example, the still image could be animated by having the person dance in a video. According to the company this can be done using technology which captures and transfers motion from one object to another.

Veo now allows users to create videos in different styles such as origami or pop art. As well, now creators have the option to describe objects with text such as props or characters.

In the coming months, these new capabilities will become available.

Creators will be able to remix the audio from videos that are eligible into soundtracks of other Shorts.
