📅

Our first contributor cohort is now accepting applications. Deadline is July 28.

We’re excited to launch the new and improved Buffer Guest Post Program — now cohort-based and built around a central theme each round.

This isn’t the typical call for open submissions. We’re instead creating a collaborative, intentional space where creators can share their systems, workflows and strategies which have helped them to grow.

We believe consistent social media growth comes from finding what works and building on it — and those are exactly the stories we want to tell.

Why We’re Launching This Program

We used to accept guest posts all year round, but the small Content team could not keep up. Buffer has a constantly changing focus. It’s hard to remain aligned and give each piece of content the attention it deserves.

The new cohort model is intended to correct this.

Here’s what’s new:

  • The application is only available during certain times (starting right now)
  • Then we’ll choose a smaller group (less than 10 contributors per round).
  • Async editing, prompts and templates will be provided.
  • Buffer will publish each story on its blog, and share it with an audience of over 100,000 people.

It is an intentional and collaborative approach to highlighting real creators who do great work.

⚠️

Please Note:: This is not a paid freelance writing opportunity — it’s for creators, marketers and entrepreneurs who want to share their actual experience. Below is more information.

Why do you want to write on the Buffer Blog?

We’ll support you from draft to publishing — and make sure your story reaches the right people.

Each contributor gets:

  • Buffer Blog: Full byline with bio and photo
  • Learn how to write and edit blogs at Buffer by working with the Buffer Editorial team
  • Spot in a cohort of real-life creators who share actionable, realistic stories

Your piece will receive the recognition it deserves when you’re ready to publish. Every guest post is:

  • Our weekly newsletter highlights the best of our work
  • Buffer social media channels reach thousands of people
  • Published in a staggered publishing schedule — so every story has space to shine
  • Facetime our creators, entrepreneurs, and marketers.

This is the perfect opportunity for those who want to build their brand, improve their writing and be featured with other expert creators.

This week’s theme is: “The System that Helped me Grow on Social”

Let’s start with something we hear everywhere. What system is sustainable?

Our goal is to find real success stories of creators and marketers. We also want entrepreneurs. Repeatable and creator-friendly systems There are many people who work Right now. It could be your content strategy, platform, or mindset that has changed the way you present yourself.

We’re especially excited about systems tied to emerging platform behavior — like Threads posting routines, Instagram batching, or LinkedIn carousels. But the system doesn’t have to be flashy — just something real that helped you stay consistent and grow.

Here are a few examples.

If you’ve built something that works — and you want to help others do the same — we’d love to feature your story.

You can join the program by sending us your pitch.

What does it take to make a great pitch?

When pitching an article for your system, you should ask:

  • Is my system able to solve common challenges for marketers or creators?
  • How can I explain my exact actions to readers?
  • Can I include screenshots and results or example examples in my work?
  • Are you using a platform (e.g. Threads, LinkedIn, Buffer)?

Here are a few pitch ideas.👍🏾

  • “How I used a newsletter to drive 1,000 followers to Threads in 30 days”
  • “How batching Instagram Reels weekly helped me stop burning out”
  • “The Notion system I built to plan a year’s worth of content”
  • “What happened when I posted carousels daily for a month”

What the program is and how it will operate
