The story of a lone AI film maker, a cutting edge generative video model and a nationwide TV spot for one of the most important sporting events in the country. It’s not the plot of an upcoming sci-fi film; this is the future of advertising and was produced in only 3 days.

TLDR:

  • The First of Its Kind The following are some of the ways to get in touch with each other AI-generated commercial The platform for events betting Kalshi This video was made using Google’s generative model. Veo3The NBA Finals will be broadcast nationally.
  • Reduce Costs: The 15-clip ad was created by AI Filmmaker PJ Accetturo in only 3 days. This resulted in a 95% reduction in cost compared with traditional commercial production. The cost was $2,000
  • It is important to note that the word “you” means “you”. “Gemini-to-Veo3” Workflow: This ad has been produced in four simple steps: rough scripting, AI-powered prompt creation with Gemini and Veo3, video production with Veo3, final editing with standard software such as Adobe Premiere.
  • Agile is the Future: This project represents a move towards smaller and highly-skilled creative teams that use AI to quickly produce brand-friendly content in high volumes.
  • The Human Skills is Still Key: Despite the technological leap, the creator emphasizes that professional taste, directorial experience, and, most importantly, comedy writing are the new moats for creatives in the age of AI….and I agree!

A commercial created almost entirely using AI ran on TV this week in the NBA Finals. Self-described “advertiser” and self-styled “expert in AI”, the ad was for Kalshi’s event-betting platform. “AI Filmmaker” PJ Accetturo was hired to create a commercial about bettors on sports and current events.

In the end, it is clear that generative technology has advanced rapidly. Accetturo, in a comprehensive post on X revealed how the ad was created, leveraging Google’s text-to-video technology. Veo3. The rapid adoption of AI for commercial applications is evident in this achievement. It was achieved just a few weeks after Veo3’s public debut.

AI-Powered Creative Workflow – From Script to screen in days

Accetturo’s workflow, which has he claims generated more than 30 million views on various projects within just three short weeks, is the perfect example of collaboration between humans and AI. His viral video workflow is broken down into four easy steps.

  1. You can write a rough script: A creative foundation is the first step in any process.
  2. Gemini For Prompts Google Gemini helps to develop the script and turn it into a shot-list. It also generates specific video prompts.
  3. Veo3: Veo3 generates the video files by feeding in Google flow (as if it were a program).
  4. Edit in CapCut/Premiere: Video editing software is used to assemble, time and polish the final AI generated clips.

Writing with a machine: Crafting a Vision

The creative process for the Kalshi spot began with a couple of key dialogue fragments. Accetturo worked with Gemini and invented what Accetturo called “10 wild characters in unhinged situations” Deliver the lines.

“I co-write with Gemini,” Accetturo explains, “asking it for ideas, picking the best ones, and shaping them into a simple script.” The partnership allows rapid ideation by combining human creativity with the limitless imaginations of an large language model.

The New Direction is Prompting

Prompts are the critical layer of translation between screen and script. Accetturo developed a method to do this. It uses Gemini, which converts each shot in the script into an extremely detailed Veo sentence.

“I then ask Gemini to take the script and convert every shot into a detailed Veo prompt,” Notes he. “I always tell it to return 5 prompts at a time—any more than that and the quality starts to slip.”

He stresses that the key is to approach each prompt like a separate instruction. Veo should be given all of the context at every opportunity to ensure consistency with character, tone, and setting.

This is an example of how to create a prompt for your ad.

This is a handheld, medium-wide video shot like street footage at night in Miami. Unseen by the tourists or clubgoers, an old man of late 60s walks confidently along the sidewalk. The man is grinning from head to foot, and his stomach proudly sticks out of a pink cropped T-shirt. He wears extremely short neon green shorts, white tube socks, beat-up sneakers, and a massive foam cowboy hat with sequins on it…As he walks, he turns slightly toward the camera, still mid-strut, and shouts with full confidence and joy: ‘Indiana got that dog in ‘em!’

What you need to know about tips, tricks, and the bottom line

Veo3 is a powerful tool, but it requires some insider tips. Accetturo recommends that you run prompts within “fast mode” Iterate rapidly. He suggests that if a generation does not work, you can paste the prompt into Gemini and ask for changes. Then try again. He notes some current quirks such as the use of phrases like “screaming at the top of their lungs” All-caps dialog to trigger yelling in the AI characters.

Veo3 currently does not support characters that are consistent across different shots. However, detailed descriptions within each prompt will create the illusion of continuity.

This experiment has shown a staggering efficiency. “This took about 300–400 generations to get 15 usable clips,” Accetturo writes. “One person, 2-3 days. That’s a 95% cost reduction vs traditional ads.”

Future of Advertising and the Creative “Moat”

Accetturo wants to make it clear that creative professionals will not be wiped off the face of the earth. “Just because this was cheap doesn’t mean anyone can do it,” He states. “I’ve been a director [for] 15+ years. Brands still pay a premium for taste.”

He imagines a world dominated by small agile teams. “viral, brand-adjacent content weekly,” 80-90% the effect at fractional costs.

In this new paradigm, what skills are required of filmmakers and advertisers? Accetturo claims that the key isn’t technical expertise, but creativity. It’s a great proxy to a human + AI future.

“The most valuable skill in entertainment and advertising is comedy writing,” He concludes. “If you can make people laugh, they’ll watch the full ad, engage with it, and some of them will become customers.”

The Kalshi NBA Finals ad is more than just a clever commercial; it’s a dispatch from the future of media creation—a future that is arriving fast.
